One of the most unique is known as the "carretero" style, also called the "Carretera Central" sound, which refers to the sound developed by a series of musical groups that became known in the 1970s in Lima, during a time of significant transformation. At that time, this area experienced a large influx of migrants from the provinces coming to the capital in search of a better future. The pioneers of this carretero style were Los Sanders de Ñaña, and following them, other groups emerged, creating not only a unique style but also a circuit.
