Behind Lonelady is Mancunian Julie Campbell, who is releasing her second album, "Hinterland." While her first album, "Nerve Up" ('12), mostly combined minimal wave, early techno, and post-punk, "Hinterland" is infused with funk. Campbell is thus setting her sights on the dancefloor. She's also taking things incredibly seriously, having specifically traveled to Michigan (US) to record on funk maestro Sly Stone's original mixing console. Bill Skibbe (The Kills, Austra, The Dead Weather) handled the production's raw edge, and the lead single, "Groove It Out," is already making a big impact.
