Temps en terre is L'Ocelle Mare's fifth album, and the first to have been recorded in a studio. Previous albums favored strong and very distinct acoustics: the highly reverberant space of a Protestant temple for *Serpentement*, recordings made in forests, on ponds and in cabins for *Engourdissement*, apartments and urban spaces for *Porte d'octobre*, and caves and churches for the first untitled album. The tracks on *Temps en terre*, on the other hand, are illuminated by a starker light, presented in a rawer form closer to a live performance. All elements are played and mixed simultaneously and in real-time. The instrumentation is composite, rustic, and paradoxically sophisticated: piano, six-string bass banjo, mechanical metronome, tuning forks, claves, foot and hand clapping, mini-amplifiers, amplifiers, subwoofer, microphones, small mixing console, bells, fragments of mouth organ, concertina, componiums, "stringin it", audio ducker, drumhead, spring motors...
