Five years after the release of the album 'Fellowship', whose gospel sounds delighted critics, Lizz Wright returns with 'Freedom & Surrender' her first record with Concord Records. For her debut on her new label, the singer chose to collaborate with Larry Klein, the famous producer known for his work with Joni Mitchell, Madeleine Peyroux, and Tracy Chapman. For the recording sessions, Lizz Wright and Larry Klein surrounded themselves with talented musicians such as drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, bassist Dan Lutz, percussionist Pete Korpela, guitarists Dean Parks and Jesse Harris, and keyboardists Kenny Banks, Pete Kuzma, and Billy Childs. Larry Klein also enlisted the services of his old partner David Batteau, asking him to contribute to the writing of the songs. With this album destined to become a true classic, Lizz Wright reaches new heights in her art as a singer and songwriter.
