Liverpool Alligator Park is a garage punk duo formed near Venice in 2018. It consists of Francesco (drums) and Emanuele (guitar and vocals). In June 2018, they released their first self-produced EP Look Out! The Alligators Are Running. A year later, they followed it up with their second EP Look Out! The Alligators Are Dead in collaboration with Garage Records and Rocketman Records. After more than 50 concerts in clubs, venues, and festivals in northern and central Italy, along with positive feedback from international independent radio stations and magazines, they entered Matt Bordin's Outside Inside studio to record their first album LAP. In terms of sound, LAP is the very essence of Liverpool Alligator Park: fast, catchy, and straightforward tracks. When writing the album, they listened to everything—from jazz to Blink-182—anything that could motivate them. The sounds are natural and raw. The vibes are garage rock 'n' roll, sometimes retro, sometimes not at all. They used only a guitar and drums, just like in concert. All tracks were recorded in real-time, with a few additional guitars added in overdub. The lyrics are very direct, and where the listener is not struck by pragmatism, they are hit by irony. They talk about the world and the realities a young man in his late twenties constantly faces in these strange times, between the pandemic and precarious jobs.
