Discovered by the Goffin-King duo, 19-year-old "Little" Eva Boyd was offered the opportunity to sing on the demo of "The Loco-Motion", a track intended for singer Dee Dee Sharp. She performed so well that her version was released and climbed like a locomotive to number 1 in the charts. Although a few singles followed, she quickly returned to anonymity, which would never be the case for her hit, imprinted in collective memory, especially since Kylie Minogue's cover.
