Different Drums

Description

The first solo album by the singer/drummer of Psychotic Monks. This record is a testimony, the beginning of a repair process that started in 2020. I recorded it in my room in Rennes in 2024 with a classical guitar, a Berhinger Pro 800, a Korg Volca Beats and a Bêta 58. I added no input mixing, a technique of infinite feedback, to saturate certain instruments. I wanted very raw lyrics, without imagery, without ambiguity, leaving no doubt about the subjects addressed: incest, post-traumatic stress, my mental health and sobriety. This album allows me to break the silence and isolation, to heal the body and the word. With rare intensity, 'Different Drums' reveals the singular universe of Lila Sober, between folk, musique concrète and soundscapes.
