Postcards From Heaven

Description

Originally released on Wildcard/Polydor Records in October 1997, Postcards From Heaven reached number two on the UK charts, spent over a year on the lists, and spawned five Top 30 singles. Supervised by Paul Tucker, this is the first time the album has been released on vinyl, and this limited edition is on high-quality 180g orange vinyl. If their first album in 1995, Ocean Drive, took the Lighthouse Family to the top of the mountain, then Postcards From Heaven offered the view from the summit. While their debut album was designed and developed for a year before its release, Paul Tucker and Tunde Baiyewu had to prove that lightning could indeed strike twice. It is possible. Recorded again with producer Mike Peden, the album was partially realized at Jacques Loussier's Miraval studios in the south of France, and this sunny warmth permeates the work. While Ocean Drive took time to break through, the success of Postcards From Heaven was immediate: the first single Raincloud entered the Top 10 directly in October before the album, and the second single, High, reached number 4 in January 1998, their best position together with their anthem, Lifted, two years earlier. Despite growing success, images of the Tyne Bridge in the video highlight that the band has not traveled far from its roots. With other hits such as Lost In Space, Question Of Faith, and Postcard From Heaven, Postcards From Heaven plays like a perfect soundtrack of the late 90s while remaining vibrant and contemporary.
