A native of Liverpool, former frontman of The Lanskies, and adopted Norman, Lewis Evans crafts his intimate songs like so many hits, inspired by the songwriting of Leonard Cohen, the epics of Echo and The Bunnymen, and the anthems of Oasis. A delightful and captivating album recorded in a joyous frenzy with his band during the summer of 2021. And Fred Buchet, his loyal arranger since 2016, once again blended mandolins and acoustic guitars during the 15 days of summer sessions at L'Abbaye. But this time, Lewis, a big fan of The Divine Comedy's delicate pop and the sixties innovations of The Beatles, Yardbirds, and Kinks, enriches his compositions with audacious textures.
