JAZZ GIANT

Description

Affectionately nicknamed "Prez" (short for President of Tenor Sax) by Billie Holiday, Lester Young is one of the most influential saxophonists of all time and a key inspiration for the cool jazz movement. The release of The Jazz Giant in 1956, three years before his passing, serves as a reminder to everyone that the musician had lost none of the talent and creativity that established his reputation over the years. The five ballads that make up the album are a magnificent invitation to travel, featuring two highlights: You Can Depend on Me and the delightful Gigantic Blues. Extract from the ideal Fnac discography 2017.
