Lescop's return with this third album is like the unstoppable reinvention of French new wave. This natural child of rock and punk has rediscovered the meaning of intimate rebellion after weathering some internal storms of rare intensity. As if he were now reconnecting with the very essence of the (both dark and joyful) candor of his first hit "La forêt" (+15M streams)...where he thus allowed an entire generation, eager for new meanings and sounds, to dance on the burning coals of a hybridization that defines the identity of today's French pop.
In tandem with director Thibault Frisoni, Lescop has built his pop edifice of 13 luminous songs around the themes of mutation, love, and rebirth. Here, we encounter the incandescent and uncompromising voices of Izïa, Halo Maud, and Laura Cahen. Suddenly, the power of Ash Workman (Metronomy, Christine and the Queens...) in the mixing provides natural light to the record, where Brighton becomes a Balearic destination... While the poetic imprint of Pasolini neighbors those of Bob Dylan, Etienne Daho, and Daniel Darc, a majestic trilogy of inspiration that attests to a return to the very essence of pop. Lescop has titled his third album "Rêve parti" (Dream Gone). In 13 songs of obsessive magnetism, he succeeds in convincing us that it is still possible to reinvent the dream in all its utopian force. The album will be available on 02.02.2024 in partnership with MK2 and Les Inrocks.
