Tout en commun (LP)

Description

They'd been talking for a while about this desire to tour together. Not just taking turns on stage, no, truly together. It's a deeply unique story that these two bands and their audience tell, in this complicit sharing that doesn't wane, quite the opposite, over the decades [30 years for Les Ogres, 26 for La Rue]. It was on the road, playing all the time, everywhere, and in multiple forms, that the two formations met, built loyalty with, and expanded this audience. Yes, it is possible to sustain one's artistic project over time by following one's own path, far from media radars and ephemeral trends. Les Ogres and La Rue Kétanou already championed a French chanson that was uninhibited, generous, lively, sincere, poetic or electrifying, loving or protest-filled, always open to all winds. But, for the first time, these nine musicians played together this winter. Only 10 concerts, all completely sold out weeks, months in advance. The public's enthusiasm was even crazier than expected, as was the pleasure taken in sharing this artistic and human adventure. The party was so beautiful! So, in addition to deciding to spend a bit more of the summer together at about fifteen festivals, they chose to immortalize this tour on vinyl, for themselves and for the public. The live album "Tout en commun!" will be released on June 13th. It includes nine songs. Not necessarily the best known or most anticipated, but those that they feel best convey the alchemy emanating from this adventure. It's on a warm journey, shared with impressive fervor by thousands of others, that these nine artists take us. Like an obvious truth. For they have everything in common.
