25 years into their career, and the desire to write songs remains undiminished. This eighth album, titled "Étrange affaire" (Strange Affair), reunites the songwriting duo Philippe Moreau and Hervé Poinas, founders of the Lille-based band. Les Mauvaises Langues observe the world, casting a gaze that is at times troubled, at times tinged with hope. They tackle themes such as Brexit, introspection, lifelong love, legacy, and the republican promise, always driven by a perpetual desire to share their questions, without ever lecturing. Indeed, Les Mauvaises Langues tell us through this album that human nature is a "Strange Affair." But Les Mauvaises Langues is also, and always, a matter of friendship, loyalty, sincerity, collective joy on stage, and the pleasure of creating songs.
"A very accomplished blend of chanson and rock." (Francofans)
