Le Vent du Nord is a traditional Quebec music group. The band is considered an ambassador of the Quebec progressive folk movement, as well as a leading group in the revival of traditional music in Quebec. Since its founding in 2002, it has performed over 1,800 concerts on 5 continents, released 8 albums, and received numerous prestigious awards, including a Grand Prix du disque from the Académie Charles-Cros in France and two Juno Awards in Canada. It was named Artist of the Year by the Folk Alliance International network and at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. In 2015, it won a Félix award at the ADISQ gala for its album Têtu and, in recognition of its international outreach work, was the first recipient of the Prix Pont Transatlantique awarded jointly by Babel Med Music and Mundial Montréal. Their qualities as performers, arrangers, and composers, as well as their strong stage presence marked by deep generosity, are now recognized worldwide. Today, composed of singers and multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Boulerice, Simon Beaudry (since 2003), Olivier Demers, Réjean Brunet (since 2007), and André Brunet (since December 30, 2017), the group performs works from the traditional repertoire as well as original compositions.
