The long march

Le Trio Joubran has been touring the world for over 15 years, carrying their ouds as if they were their own identities, planting them like flags on the myriad of stages where they are invited to play. To date, they have released 5 albums with numerous collaborations, including the legendary participation of their old friend Mahmoud Darwish (cultural symbol of the Arab world in 2018) with "À l'Ombre des Mots," where the poet's words, suspended in time, meet the sound of the Trio in a magnificent and enchanting union. Their new album "The Long March" is released on Cooking Vinyl, and it is the result of a long gestation. Their challenge: to explore and shape a new musical universe for a traditional instrument like the oud, to find that space where the past and the future can unite gracefully. A challenge that is proudly met, and whose answer lies in the songs and collaborations that punctuate the album. The presence of Roger Waters hovers over several tracks, notably "Supremacy" released in March 2018, and the enchanting melodies of Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran are accompanied and lifted by pads, electronic machines, compressors, and a live orchestra. Thanks to the brilliant production of Renaud Letang, the Trio Joubran has definitely expanded its musical horizons.
