To mark the centenary of the birth of the brilliant pianist and composer Thelonious Monk, Laurent de Wilde's new album is entirely dedicated to him. His compositions are revisited and arranged for a fantastic acoustic trio comprising Jérôme Regard on double bass, Donald Kontomanou on drums and Laurent de Wilde on piano. They offer a contemporary interpretation of the pianist's work, proving that his modernity transcends the boundaries of time and continues to profoundly stir the essential values of music. The only exception to the repertoire rule is a composition by Laurent de Wilde in memory of Thelonious, Tune for T, which he performs as a piano solo.
