Hasta Cuando? a project imagined and written by Martha "Martica" Galarraga and Eliene Castillo, 2 Afro-Cuban panthers, 2 free artists, convinced feminists and liberated, 2 sensitive, rebellious and passionate activists... After participating in numerous musical projects around the world alongside artists such as Omar Sosa or Chucho Valdés, the two Cuban singers, Martica and Eliene, embark on their personal project. With this recording project, the two artists questioned what makes sense to them, the perspective they have on the world. The writing work allowed their sensitivity, their rebellion, their passion to blossom. The subsequent composition work revealed their strong imprint of Afro-Cuban culture while integrating more modern sounds.
At times rebellious, lovers, feminists, or warriors, they present lyrics that question, that shake things up without falling into defeatism. They invite everyone to take on the challenge of life. Whether one is a street vendor, philosopher, or businesswoman, everyone can see their reflection in the texts offered by these two artists. From powerful and refined vocal harmonizations to lyrical or rapped improvisations, the two singers gradually make our bodies tremble to lead them towards total surrender. Their music flirts as much with their Cuban roots as with electro sounds to achieve an elegant combination of sounds that can only move, stimulate, and elevate the bodies present.
