Carpe diem

Description

2nd studio album by Lara Fabian, released in Quebec as early as 1995, this record only arrived in France after the huge success of her third album, "Pure". It features the first version of "Si tu m'aimes" (co-written with her longtime collaborator Rick Allison), as well as a text by Eddy Marnay (Céline Dion, Mireille Mathieu) for "Puisque c'est l'amour". As for "Je suis malade", Lara sang it in front of Serge Lama during his recital at the Palais des Congrès in 1995 in Paris, hoping that it would help kickstart her career in France. While there is only one song in English ("Bridge Of Hope"), many songs written in French are nonetheless very Anglo-Saxon in style. Among the contributors, we recognize the names of Dave Pickell, Stan Meissner, and also the singer Mario Parent ("Tu t'en vas"). Despite a very late release in France, the album achieved staggering scores, clearly proving that the French public had accepted Lara Fabian with her qualities and flaws, her present and her past.
