Live From Müsli Mountain

This is the first release from Laguna Seca, a new project by Porto-based musician Mike Jefford. This record heralds a new set of works, infused with a nostalgia for the 1970s, but refracted through sounds evoking krautrock, disco, electronica, noise rock, and everything in between. Mike previously recorded under the name Positive Centre, releasing textured and experimental techno on labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, SNTS, and Leyla — a must-listen if you're a fan of Vatican Shadow or the spectral side of Black Dog. After finalizing the mastering of his debut album set to release in 2026, O Tempo, Mike Jefford experienced a second wave of inspiration. In just seven frantic days, he recorded a series of tracks that would become the foundation of Live from Müsli Mountain. It quickly became apparent that these tracks perfectly foreshadowed the upcoming album, giving rise to this EP. Named after the California racetrack, this project merges 1970s recording techniques, contemporary electronics, and psychedelic retrofuturism. It is a pyramid of sonic adventures that will be explored further on the anticipated album next year.
