Laetitia Shériff's fourth album, *Stillness*, is about the need to find oneself. The record is by turns peaceful and furious, meditative and enchanting, or ferociously electric. Recorded live, it features raw, stripped-down guitars in open tuning, sometimes evoking the epileptic moments of a Neil Young, and precise, sober drums, for rough tracks full of splinters and rage. And then, suddenly, the clearing brightens and everything is full of light: arabesque-like arrangements plunge us into reverie, recalling the delicate tapestries of Broadcast. Both a reunion with oneself and a cry of rebellion, *Stillness* is, like all mirrors, double-edged: turned inwards, it restores our self-awareness. Turned outwards to the world and others, it asks a question: where is the common reflection of our humanity?
