The singer of Stereolab, cult experimental pop band of the 90s, delivers a new solo album. Not quite solo, in fact, since she has teamed up with new collaborators on this project and returns under the name Laetitia Sadier Source Ensemble. An album with two faces, the compositions are marked by a certain duality that is always harmonious. Thus, the melodies provided here by musicians such as Emmanuel Mario, Xavi Munoz, David Thayer, Phil M FU or even Mason Le Long, seem to answer the enchanting voice of the singer, who moves effortlessly from the language of Shakespeare to that of Molière. The synths come and go, responding to unusual guitar effects, carried and driven by the rhythm and the deep sound of the bass lines. The whole is a coherent experimental pop, forming a light and dreamlike whole. Straight out of a dream, the tracks on Laetitia Sadier Source Ensemble have nevertheless benefited from rich and very real collaborations, as on 'Love Captive' where Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip came to lend his voice, or with the participation of Rob Mazurek on cornet.
