The recordings were made on cassette in Virginia and mastered by Chris Coady in Los Angeles. Star Eaters Delight reveals an expansion of Lael's sonic collaboration with producer and accompanist Guy Blakeslee, following her first album for Sub Pop, Acquainted With Night, which was praised for its crystalline voice, intelligent songwriting, and use of the Omnichord to create a world of daydreams. Forged in isolation, Star Eaters Delight is a vehicle for a return, not only to civilization but to celebration. Guy's stripped-down yet cinematic arrangements create an ambient space in which Lael's clear and natural voice can explore familiar themes in unexpected ways.
