LADANIVA, a modern world pop music!Or rather a "world music," of rare richness, that reinvents what is too narrowly called Balkan folklore, and energizes — if not dynamites — the Anglo-Saxon pop format. That is the secret of Ladaniva's music, this Franco-Armenian duo already a musical phenomenon on the international stage. Some of their tracks have become true anthems within the Armenian diaspora worldwide. But their musical color is not limited to the native country of singer Jaklin Baghdasaryan: part pop, predominantly Armenian, and sometimes infused with French, LADANIVA's music is hybrid and mixed, preaching Balkan melancholy as well as Creole groove, inhabited by hip hop echoes and reggae vibes...
