Description

VEGETAL POP. First there is the love of plants, the members of the duo LABOTANIQUE are agronomists. Then there is passion, for music, synthesizers and rap. There is also a place, the Nantes botanical garden, it is their recording studio, their field of experimentation. But above all, there is this desire to make plants sing. Utopia? No, vegetal pop! This sensitivity to ecology and to the living world, LABOTANIQUE develops with Raphaël D'hervez (Pongo, Ramo, Ricky Hollywood). In 2019, they released together the EP '47e Parallèle' which benefited from nationwide airplay. The same year, the duo created a show for Le Voyage à Nantes in partnership with the Jardin des Plantes. In 2020, they were part of the new FAIR class, and took the opportunity to shape their project 'Expressions végétales'. On this first album scheduled for June 25, 2021, the listener travels from one plant to another. Each track questions our society, through the point of view of a plant species. It is therefore only natural that this release will be accompanied by a tour in the botanical gardens of France. In their various activities, Ronan and Thomas see themselves as a link between the living world and the public. When they lead cultural mediation workshops, they invite participants (schoolchildren, students, prisoners) to tell their stories through the prism of plants. When they create sound walks and podcasts, it is in the form of immersive experiences that give pride of place to our natural heritage.
