Six quatuors

Rejoined by the Dutch fortepianist Arthur Schoonderwoerd, Moreno and his colleagues from La Real Camara (the violist Antonio Clares and the cellist Mercedes Ruiz) perform six piano quartets that are a transcription of the quartettini op. 26 from 1778, and published a little later. Moreno transports us to the Age of Enlightenment, to that court of great culture that the infant Don Luis de Bourbon (brother of the king) maintained during his exile in Arenas de San Pedro where chamber music reached an exceptional level thanks to the Quatuor Font and the remarkable cellist that was Boccherini. Here, the fortepiano is added to the violin, viola, and obbligato bass for this ensemble of works of great elegance, grace, and incomparable spirit, delicately infused with the popular motifs that Boccherini heard around him.
