The text *I Grilli* (the crickets), which inspired this album, offers a glimpse into a vision of Corsican music, its identity, and its multiple influences. It is composed of three verses used to create interconnected song sub-sections (sometimes the text is sung in its entirety, while at other times, a single verse is enough to introduce a sub-section, thereby revealing unique musical nuances). The aim of this album is to offer an immersive experience in which each song, while having its own identity, is part of a global creation where the text *I Grilli* serves as the common thread.
Polyphony, largely present, is the foundation of the research work; it plays a central role in the genesis of the album, which follows on from the compositional work of the previous album *A principiu*. Creative inspiration is fostered by the island's geographical position, its history, and a musical approach deliberately oriented towards other horizons.
The section incorporating ancient writings, preceded by a *Currente* (improvised text on a traditional tune), is imbued with a sound atmosphere consistent with the group's musical identity.
Significant space is given to compositions in the "Corsican cabaret song" style, inspired by the works of emblematic singers from the pre-Riacquistu period (a cultural movement that emerged in Corsica in the 1970s), when Corsican music began to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in the island's musical traditions. A reading of the text *I Grilli* introduces this section.
The album concludes with a *nanna* (lullaby) and a series of unclassifiable pieces that perfectly illustrate the group's research work.
