Description

The American jazz singer Kurt Elling, crowned with a Grammy in 2009 (and no less than ten nominations) returns with his eleventh album (the 5th for Concord). With the breadth of his concept and the range of his influences: Brazil, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Scotland, Spain, Cuba, Passion World is certainly the most ambitious project ever undertaken by the most prominent vocal artist on the jazz scene. It is also his album with the most "star-studded" cast: to accompany Kurt and his regular quintet - Gary Versace (keyboards), John McLean (guitar), Clark Sommers (bass), Kendrick Scott (drums) - we discover a battalion of guests including: a virtuoso trumpeter, the veteran Arturo Sandoval; the young singer Sara Gazarek, highly acclaimed; the German trumpet star Till Brönner; the French accordion virtuoso, Richard Galliano; the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, as well as the renowned German ensemble WDR Big Band & Orchestra, famous worldwide.
