A cult classic of underground hip-hop, The Cenobites brings together the legendary Kool Keith and producer Godfather Don for a raw and jazzy collaboration that helped define the indie rap sound of the late 90s. Born in the shadows of 90s Brooklyn and initially released on Bobbito Garcia's Fondle 'Em Records, the project evolved into a dark and hypnotic album that pushed the boundaries of underground hip-hop. Originally released as an EP in 1995, then as an LP in 1997, with a bonus track added in 2000, The Cenobites LP features raw tracks with abstract lyricism, surreal science fiction imagery, and unconventional jazzy rhythms.
