"In a Secret Room" is a retrospective that reopens the sonic and visual archives of KKD, revealing a trajectory long kept in the shadow of Italian new wave. The tracks, recorded between 1979 and 1986, bear witness to a constantly evolving process, fueled by experimentation, improvisation, and a permanent quest for new languages. The project took shape in a former hotel on the Po plain, transformed into a studio, rehearsal space, and visual laboratory. There, among analog synthesizers, homemade electronic devices, and multitrack recorders, Kriminal Killer Division experimented and pushed the limits of the technology at their disposal, developing a hybrid language: sounds captured from the radio and the street, synthetic voices, guitars, and electronic sequences intertwine in compositions oscillating between art rock, minimal wave, and more industrial sonorities. This compilation aims precisely to reactivate this imaginary world. The vinyl is accompanied by a risographed fanzine that restores the visual dimension of the project: collages, photographs, and graphic elements reflect the same experimental approach found in the recordings. Sound and image come together, forming a unique expressive device. "In a Secret Room" offers access to a hidden space where interferences, noises, and intuition take shape without intermediary. Not a nostalgic work, but a rebirth: living archives that continue to generate meaning in the present.
