Last year, when the pandemic plunged the entire world into uncertainty, Danish singer-songwriter Kira Skov wanted to make a statement through music. She reached out to singers and instrumentalists, some she had worked with and others she admired. Giving birth to this new project, despite the sometimes enormous geographical distances separating them, was also about seeking to work together to build a project and find meaning, in a period that no longer had any. The endeavor was a success, with all the contacted artists agreeing to embark on the adventure with wonderfully personal contributions from diverse personalities such as Jenny Wilson, Mark Lanegan, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, John Parish, Bill Callahan, and Lionel Liminana, as well as Mette Lindberg, Marie Fisker, Stine Grøn, and Steen Jørgensen. I am so happy that everyone was willing to participate in the project. The album was born from a true musical exchange: The soundtracks were all recorded live in Copenhagen; I sent the songs to each person as audio files, and everyone added their voice as they went along.
