Description
After the compulsive collage of their first album with Kill Rock Stars, Giddy Skelter, the duo felt inclined to evoke simpler times by highlighting performances rather than production. They abandoned Ableton and turned to the careful study of Carole Kaye and Hal Blaine. They enlisted Tim's former bandmate from Jeanne d'Arc, Theo Katsaounis, as a multi-instrumentalist, and hit the road to work on the songs live, playing dozens of shows across the United States and the United Kingdom over a four-month period.
