King Garbage returns with a new album, "Heavy Metal Greasy Love," featuring their contemporary take on American soul.
Longtime friends and GRAMMY® Award-nominated producers Zach Cooper and Vic Dimotsis have quietly influenced pop, R&B, and hip-hop, producing tracks for The Weeknd, SZA, Ellie Goulding, Gallant, and Billy Porter. In 2021, Vic and Zach co-wrote "Sing" for Jon Batiste's "We Are" album. This album earned eight GRAMMY® Award nominations, including "Album of the Year." They also wrote "Sweeter" [feat. Terrace Martin] on Leon Bridges' "Gold-Diggers Sound," which received a GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best R&B Album." This is a retro album that innovates, not seeking to reproduce old formulas. The music is crunchy, the sound is warm, almost purring and comforting. Breaking from the "rough and ready" vibe of their debut record, "Make It Sweat," King Garbage has incorporated a rock 'n' roll spirit into this soul sphere.
