The music of Kiesza, 25 years old, originally from Calgary, Canada, overflows with both deep house tones, groovy sounds, and melodies that are as moving as they are bright. Residing between London and NY, she has accumulated in her life much more experience than one might imagine. A composer for a short time, the young girl is first and foremost a trained ballerina, but she also spent her young years in the Navy, where her talent for handling weapons earned her a recruitment from the Army as a sniper, which she ultimately declined. She preferred, instead, to turn to music and pay tribute to singers such as Michael Jackson, Martha Wash, CeCe Peniston, and Robin S, while adding to her compositions new influences like "Disclosure" and "Hot Natured," revealing the irresistible blend of her musical sensibility.
