Solo in Stuttgart

Description

When he gave his concert in Stuttgart in 1992, the possibilities of a solo piano program were still in the experimental stage for Kenny Werner. It was the time of the album Méditations recorded with SteepleChase Records, and thus of parallel questions about how to best correlate creative freedom and production demands. In his book Effortless Mastery, he later describes his entry into the Manhattan School of Music, a very intense period of musical practice. Werner has always progressed by seeking to draw his strength not from the struggle for innovation, but from an incessant quest for finesse and elegance in which he has always been able to make the best use of the possibilities developed by the piano tradition.
