Kennebec is the critically acclaimed musical outlet of Eric Phillips, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Portland, Oregon. Drawing from an eclectic range of influences to create his unique style of cinematic electronic music, he presents his second album "Without Star or Compass.... After the release of his first album "Departure" at the beginning of the pandemic, early 2020, "Without Star or Compass" was written and recorded during a phase of Phillips' life that allowed him to reexamine his motivations. "The primary influence for this record is that, more than 'Departure', I wanted to write this record for my friends and others rather than for myself. It may also be a product of maturation, but I wanted the music to communicate more clearly to others, and be less of a sort of exercise for myself."
