This solo concert, recorded at the Philharmonie de Munich on July 16, 2016, during the final date of his European tour, presents Keith Jarrett at the height of his inventiveness both in pianistic art and improvisation. Creating in the moment, with the confidence of a master builder, a spontaneous suite of ever-changing forms—interweaving touches of blues and reminiscences of folksongs full of lyricism within pieces of great harmonic and polyrhythmic complexity—the pianist delivers here one of his finest performances. In front of an audience of connoisseurs receptive to the slightest nuance, Jarrett gives his very best, notably during encores touched by grace, from which a magical version of 'It's A Lonesome Old Town' stands out in particular.
