This young Australian is a regular on the charts and at awards in her country. With this new album, she is setting out to conquer Europe. Notably, Andrew Burrows participates on "Share Your Air," Hip-Hop artist Drapht on the track "Drama," and Megan Washington on "Ghost." Initially funded by a crowdfunding campaign where she raised the necessary amount to produce it in 3 days, O Vertigo! quickly climbed to 4th place on the Australian charts and was nominated for the ARIA awards (music awards in Australia). It is an album that brilliantly blends KATE's classical training (with a lyrical background, she regularly participates in opera performances around the world) and her contemporary pop influences. To write her album O Vertigo!, she found refuge in a small house facing the Brisbane River. Exhausted by the frantic pace imposed by the release of her previous album Nightflight, KATE needed to find some peace. She locked herself away with a few records, including Heartthrob by Tegan & Sara, Voyageur by Kathleen Edwards, and a lot of classical music, as well as a copy of Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair by Pablo Neruda. The album was recorded with co-producer and sound engineer John Castle at The Shed Studio (Melbourne), where she was almost in a one-on-one setting during the 7 weeks of recording. It features a duet with Megan Washington (one of the 3 vocalists on the track I Vertigo) on the song "Ghost," a duet with Hip-Hop artist Drapht on the track "Drama," and "Share Your Air" as a duet with Andy Burrows on the European version (Passenger lends his voice on the Australian version).
