"Private Collection" is Karin Park at her purest, rawest, and most beautiful essence: an album stripped down to the core of her enchanting voice and the haunting sound of the pump organ. An introverted and intimate album that shows her not only as an exceptional musician, but also as a mother, a wife, and a humble human being. Recorded at her home, in her old church building, she re-recorded 9 of her favorite songs, written over 20 years ("Traces Of Me" is a new track), as she hears them today. Many versions are as she plays them live, alone with synths, a Mellotron, and an organ. On "Private Collection", her seventh studio album, Karin Park marries past and present. Her idiosyncratic and charismatic mezzo-soprano voice has often been compared to iconic female voices such as Kate Bush and Björk, but it is with these familiar timbres that she depicts a world that is truly unique to her; dark, strange, and unsettling, yet oozing with familiarity and comfort.
