I Can Still See You There - Chromiles One - Softmachine - Barefoot Girl Dancing In The Moonlight - Room 192 - Splitbrain Bopride In 2016, guitarist Axel Fischbacher released the CD and LP "Five Birds - Axel Fischbacher Quintet plays Charlie Parker," featuring his own interpretations of well-known Charlie Parker compositions. The idea for another very special album - "Five Birds and Strings" - was born. Fischbacher was quickly able to enthuse Werner Dickel, artistic director of the Kammerphilharmonie Wuppertal and professor of viola and chamber music, for the project. In the spirit of Charlie Parker - but without copying - Fischbacher wrote completely new compositions for jazz quintet and string orchestra, which fully exploited the qualities of a jazz quintet and a 9-piece string orchestra without resorting to clichés.
