The previous album, "Utile", had marked the great return, after ten years of absence, of Etienne Roda-Gil. For this seventeenth album, the lyricist from the singer’s early days is back again, but this time joined by other accomplices (such as David Mc Neil, the author of the huge hit "Mélissa"). That said, the most surprising writer on this album is certainly the poet Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, whose magnificent text "Les Séparés", written at the beginning of the 19th century and set to music by Julien, finds here an extraordinarily contemporary resonance. In short, a very beautifully made album that moves between warm rhythms ("Assez, assez") and tender ones ("C'est mon espoir"). Simple and endearing like its performer, "Julien".
