Today, she is preparing to release "DEAR FRANCES", created in collaboration with her husband, drummer and producer, Thomas Blachman. "DEAR FRANCES" presents for the first time a repertoire entirely composed of original songs. The dark sound that characterized her previous albums gives way to something lighter, brighter, and more optimistic. A direct consequence of the circumstances surrounding its creation: Julia's pregnancy during the recording. The bass-driven production incorporates sampled elements that blend with acoustic instruments in arrangements that support the elasticity of Julia's voice. She knows how to use it in a way that is reminiscent of how Miles Davis modulated his notes with his Harmon mute. "Some people have a voice – a certain physiology of the pharynx – that makes them what I call natural singers. Julia is totally in control, and her voice inspired me to start producing again," explains Thomas Blachman.
