While their music is rooted in the tradition of songwriting, it also borrows energy from house, playfulness from disco, not to mention a touch of hip-hop spirit. The album How Do You Feel Now? following their EP How Do You Feel? continues to confirm the full extent of their talent and this ability to boldly succeed in mixing styles. Hailing from Rochester, NY, Joywave acknowledges being a kind of UFO on the music scene and they love it! Not belonging to any family, they enjoy great creative freedom. This originality has also allowed them to stand out: Rolling Stone, The Fader, and Nylon, to name just a few, do not hold back their praise for them. Since spring, Joywave has embarked on a major tour in the US, opening for Bleachers or The Kooks, and heading to Europe (supporting Brandon Flowers in the UK). The band will also perform at the legendary Leeds & Reading Festival (UK) this summer.
