Further Combinations

Description

Complementing the Heavy Combination compilation, Further Combinations continues the exploration of the immense musical legacy of Joseph Kamaru, a major figure in Kikuyu music and Kenyan culture. Selected by the Disciples label with KMRU, the artist's grandson, these five recordings made between 1966 and 1989 highlight different facets of his repertoire, ranging from benga, folk, highlife, gospel, and protest songs. Carefully remastered from the original tapes and accompanied by unpublished notes from researcher Maina wa Mutonya, they offer a new perspective on the work of a musician whose influence has spanned over five decades.
