Phyton

Description

It is not easy to describe the music of Yosa Peit. Recently signed to Fire Records, after her first album, in very limited edition, was praised in some places as "a lo-fi glitchy music meeting electronica," but also as "steep and interdimensional pop hits." Organically nourished, Peit evokes in her music visions of green tree buds pushing through a coil of electric cables.
Scheduled for November 11, "Phyton" will be the subject of a special Deluxe edition where the fruits of progress are ready to bloom. It will include unreleased tracks: "Tyrann," a live version of the album "Serpentine," and the late-night lament "Rise."
"Phyton" is an enigma with its own humor and beauty amid the world of electronic music. It is a record that defied genre categories upon its first release on Tax Free Records two years ago.
The rise of Yosa, from singer to producer, is now complete. Think of Laurie Anderson playing chess with Björk, while a melancholic Lorraine Ellison suffers and extraterrestrial messages float in old cathode-ray tubes. Think of Prince arm wrestling with Arthur Russell riding against a backdrop of Blue Velvet buzzing, its atmosphere and striking sound effects bursting like those of a certain Aphex Twin.
