Pagodes

Description

A BRILLIANT, CONTEMPLATIVE ALBUM WITH SUMPTUOUS MELODIES. Born deaf, JONO MCCLEERY regained some of his hearing at the age of 5. He learned guitar at 18 and toured with bands such as One Taste Collective, Little Dragon, Jamie Woon, Nick Mulvey, Portico (Quartet), and Kate Tempest. The artist lent his voice to groups like Portico (Quartet) and Maribou State, but it took four years to finally hear the successor to the magnificent *There Is*. The English songwriter, now based in Rotterdam, is back with his contemplative and delicate folk-pop in *Pagodes*, a profound and powerful album described as "Miles Davis, Massive Attack, John Martyn, Fink, and Radiohead, brought together in a unique production." It's no coincidence that the album was co-produced with Royce Wood Junior. Between passionate and dramatic ballads ('This Idea of Us') and contagious swings ('Ballade'), *Pagodes* marries genres through existential musings, sumptuous melodies, and MCCLEERY's pure voice.
