Nominated for the Grammy Awards as well as the Juno Awards, which honor Canadian artists in music, Jonny Tobin is a talented musician based in Vancouver. His unique musical style draws inspiration from both 90s video games and jazz albums from the Blue Note label, where funk synth grooves intertwine with subtle jazz nuances. With already 5 albums to his credit and numerous appearances on Spotify editorial playlists that have earned him over 10 million streams, Jonny Tobin has also had the opportunity to headline the Toronto Jazz Festival in 2023 and open for renowned artists like Adi Oasis, CARRTOONS, and Braxton Cook. Following the success of the track "Sunrise" released on the Austin Boogie Crew label in 2019, Jonny Tobin is starting to work on the modern funk album "Steppin' Out," which features many collaborations with artists from around the world such as XL Middleton, Shiro Schwarz, Maya Killtron, The Vapor Caves, Rojai, and Daniel David (formerly Trailer Limon), who have themselves previously collaborated with Austin Boogie Crew. With Jonny Tobin at the forefront, this project also highlights the importance of continuing to forge artistic connections within the modern funk community.
