Immunity marked a turning point in Jon Hopkins' career. An elusive figure, known to all as an expert producer, composer of film music nominated for the Ivor Novello Awards, remixer, and long-time collaborator of Brian Eno and Coldplay. Upon its release in 2013, Immunity proved to be a powerful and multifaceted work, brimming with the most club-oriented compositions Hopkins had ever produced. However, Immunity is not just made up of techno monsters, although there are several. Hopkins wanted the album to help people reach different states of mind. From graceful and melancholic piano notes to moving choral drones, he is always seeking new melodic pathways to achieve this. His tendency to use real-world sounds as the basis for many of the album's rhythms allowed him to create one of the most human electronic albums of the decade.
