Johnny Jubilee is originally from Jamaica, from the parish of Saint Thomas, and is the brother of Tony Mahoney of the Blackstones. He is also known as Johnny Mahoney. He settled in the United Kingdom in the late 1960s. In 1970, he collaborated with Winston Curtis and Les Cliff of Saturn Record Co. In 1974, he composed a track that reached number 9 on the British reggae chart, produced by Winston Curtis. The A-side was titled "Little Girl" and the B-side "Second Cut" (under the name Johnny Mahoney).At one time, he was nicknamed "The Shuffler". He states: "I no longer dance the shuffle, but I still play guitar and write songs." With some vocal parts, but mainly DJ tracks to date, he has been compared to the late I Roy! He also collaborated with the Blackstones at Studio 1 on a track titled "Satamasa Gorno". Respect to the Blackstones!This 4-track CDEP offers different versions of the track "Plenty of Love": vocal versions, instrumental, dub 1 and dub 2. All brass parts are played by Alvin Davis. This EP precedes a full album recorded for Iron Sound Records and produced by Alien Dread. The vocals were recorded in Jamaica and the mixing finalized in the UK at PPD studios (Lindel Lewis/Leon Leiffer) and AD (Alien Dread).
