DE L'AMOUR

Description

After Michel Berger, Jean Jacques Goldman and David Hallyday, Johnny Hallyday wanted to work again with a single composer/producer. He entrusted this ambitious mission to Yodelice. For the lyrics, he called on Aurélie Saada from the group Brigitte, Jeanne Cherhal, Vincent Demerm, Cristophe Miossec, Pierre Jouishomme and Pierre-Dominique Burgaud. This album was recorded in the greatest secrecy last summer between Paris and Los Angeles. Johnny Hallyday was joined by Yodelice (guitar), Charley Srayton (drums), Laurent Vernerey (bass), Greg Zlap (harmonica) and pedal steel legend Greg Leisz. Also worth noting is the rare presence of Mitchell Froom on keyboards and the participation of Blake Mills, the new American prodigy (among other things co-producer of Alabama Shakes’ second album) on guitar on a few tracks. On the mix, we find the great Bob Clearmountain, known for his collaborations with the Rolling Stones, Bruce Sprinsteen, David Bowie and Paul McCartney. "De L'Amour" is a decidedly rock'n'roll album, blending the American roots of blues, country and even rockabilly. Johnny Hallyday’s 50th studio album, "De l'amour" made an impression in 2015 with its intimate and powerful tracks ("De l'amour", "Une vie à l'envers", "Mon coeur qui bat") or committed ones ("Dans la peau de Mike Brown", "Avant de frapper", "Un dimanche de janvier").
