Flatlands

Description

A new music supergroup with Matt Hollenberg (Simulacrum, Shardik, Secret Chiefs 3) on electric guitar, Simon Hanes (Gargantua, Tredici Bacci, Tsons of Tsunami) on electric bass, and Ches Smith (Clone Row, We All Break, Laugh Ash) on drums, Flatlands is a dynamic rock trio in the Simulacrum/Naked City/Insurrection style. The music is intense, off-kilter, and wildly ecstatic—twelve kaleidoscopic miniatures with improvised stops that surprisingly defy musical logic and reveal a deep philosophical edge. Packed with catchy riffs, atonal melodies, complex rhythms, virtuosic solos, and ever-surprising structural innovations, Flatlands is one of the most extreme guitar trios ever created.
